Just a few minutes’ drive from Umbria Casa Vacanze lies one of Italy’s most spectacular natural
wonders: the Marmore Falls. With a total height of 165 metres spread over three dramatic drops,
it is among the highest waterfalls in Europe and offers a breathtaking view in every season.
Originally created in Roman times to regulate the flow of the Velino River, the waterfall perfectly
combines the power of rushing water with the unspoilt beauty of the Umbrian landscape.
To fully enjoy this unique experience, we recommend checking the official water release times:
the waterfall is “opened” at scheduled hours, creating an unforgettable and truly emotional
spectacle. Visitors can admire the falls from several panoramic viewpoints or explore the park’s
well-marked trails, suitable both for nature lovers and for those looking for a relaxed walk.
Be sure to wear comfortable shoes and, on sunny days, bring a light waterproof jacket – getting
a little wet from the spray is all part of the magic!
We recommend wearing appropriate clothing with comfortable walking shoes and using a rain
poncho, which can also be purchased on site for just a few euros.
We also suggest checking the official Marmore Falls website for updated water release schedules
and buying tickets online in advance to avoid queues at the ticket office. On-site parking is
available for a fee.
